Position Objectives
The officer will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Economic Development & Tourism Branch with internal and external communication projects and campaigns to facilitate positive promotion of Mildura’s tourist and economic development programs, activities, events, projects, and branding.
- Assisting the Economic Development & Tourism Branch to provide up-to-date Council information to the public through various platforms.
- Assisting with the implementation of internal policies, strategies, and processes to ensure all Council communications and branding reinforce key organisational objectives.
- With guidance from the Strategic Marketing & Tourism Officer planning and organising their work and adhering to deadlines.
- Work with the Economic Development & Tourism Branch to ensure communications are presented in a professional and timely manner at all times.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
- Currently studying or having recently completed formal qualifications in marketing, communications, public relations, or a similar discipline, or several years of relevant experience in a professional public relations, marketing or communications role.
- A commitment to professional communications practise to ensure internal and external stakeholders are well informed about Council decisions or developments.
- Awareness of regional and associated local government issues.
- Hold a current satisfactory Police Check or willing to obtain one.
- Current Drivers Licence
Salary and Conditions
The position is classified within Band 5 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $75,461.88 to $86,603.92 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
