About the Position
The position of Town Planner is responsible for undertaking assessments and preparing development applications on a range of developments under the supervision of the Senior Town Planner. The position is responsible for client liaison and project management of the application through all stages and dealings with all related consultants and state agencies. The position operates under supervision in the provision of specialist town planning advice to all stakeholders.
While you will be supported by a team of experienced professionals, you will be responsible for the provision of specialist town planning advice to all stakeholders and will work on a wide range of projects including master-planned developments, mixed-use built form projects, major infrastructure projects as well as a variety of other government and non-government projects.
The salary package will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate, ranging from $60,000pa to $75,000pa, excluding superannuation.

Who We Want
As the successful candidate, you will possess:
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience within the development industry;
- An ability to work in an autonomous manner, but within a team environment;
- Advanced interpersonal skills as well as experience speaking effectively in group environments;
- Advanced knowledge of the Planning Act 2016, Economic Development Act 2012 and related legislation;
- Bachelor of Town Planning or similar tertiary degree;
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook; and
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience and eligibility for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
