About the Role
We have a proud tradition of employing and supporting student and newly graduated Town Planners. This role is an opportunity to gain valuable undergraduate experience with a highly reputable town planning consultancy engaged in the development of diverse, exciting projects across Queensland.
The role will be located in our Brisbane CBD office located at 340 Adelaide Street and will initially be offered on a part-time or casual basis, subject to your study requirements.
Candidates will preferably be in their the final year of a Town Planning degree, however other candidates are welcome to apply.
In this role you will assist with and gain exposure to:
- Preparation, lodgement and management of development applications;
- Strategic planning and planning policy projects;
- Review of planning schemes and interpretation of legislation;
- Provision of planning advice across a broad range of local government areas and land use and development types;
- Involvement in the statutory development assessment process;
- Planning research and investigations; and
- Providing support to team members in servicing client requirements as requested.
As part of this role, the following competencies and skills are highly desirable:
- An understanding of town planning principles and methods and the ability to apply them.
- Foundational knowledge of the Queensland planning framework;
- Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to your studies;
- Ability to clearly convey information and ideas;
- Be proactive and enthusiastic, with a keen interest to learn and be challenged;
- Ability to critically analyse;
- Good organisation and time management skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
- Ability to work to timeframes and multi-task; and
- Ability to work in a focused, collaborative and diligent manner with other team members and sub-consultants as required.
