What’s the role?There is now an exciting opportunity for a Trades Assistant to join the Fabrication and Machining team on a permanent, full-time basis.
As the successful candidate, you will assist both the Fabrication and Plasma and Section Cut team.
When assisting the Fabrication team, you will be responsible for a wide and varied range of tasks which will be performed on an as-needed basis. The Trade Assistant will assist Boilermakers with the efficient fabrication and welding of RME-manufactured equipment to a high standard of workmanship and safety. This role will incorporate a wide
When assisting the Plasma and Section Cut team you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of Russell Mineral Equipment’s cutting equipment on a roster rotation system which also includes the sanding and cleaning the profiled parts in a manner that meets RME’s quality assurance and design specifications.
Strong interpersonal skills, such as the ability to take direction, respond positively to criticism, and be proactive in seeking feedback and the ability to work respectfully in a team environment are critical to success in this role.
What we’re Looking For:- Previous experience as a Trades Assistant or labourer;
- Demonstrated organisation and time management skills;
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Ability to approach situations with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude;
- You must have a genuine interest assisting in the fabrication of high-quality, high-performance, specialised machines;
- Good mechanical aptitude; and
- Basic IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office software.
Possession of a current QLD ‘C’ Class Open Driver’s Licence is highly regarded for this role as well as it is desirable that you have a current Forklift High Risk licence, Overhead Crane licence and Doggers High Risk licence.
