Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role will see you provide the safe, efficient and effective mechanical and electrical maintenance of a small fleet of Ford & Toyota Light Vehicles, mobile plant and diesel generators on the Peak Mine Site.
The roster for this position is a 7/7 Day shift only roster. We also offer DIDO travel allowance, Camp or subsidised housing and many other benefits for Cobar locals.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake preventative maintenance of Light Vehicles, mobile plant, and diesel generators in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and manuals, with a focus on maintaining safety and maximizing production
- Efficiently resolve Light Vehicle, mobile plant, and diesel generator faults to minimize process plant production interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures
- Monitor and provide accurate and timely reports on mobile equipment availability/reliability
- Management of spare parts, in conjunction with your supervisor and planner, required for scheduled and breakdown maintenance
- Maintain a focus on cost control and reduction in wastage of parts and materials used
- Work closely and proactively with our asset engineering team and planner to ensure we are maintaining the fleet optimally
- Contributing to the provision of a safe place for all personnel to work.
About You
- Trade qualified diesel mechanic with extensive experience in diesel Light Vehicles and small mobile/portable plant
- Good interpersonal skills and strong customer focus
- Exceptional time management skills
- Experience in a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS), preferably Pronto or similar
- Ability to problem solve in an accurate and timely manner
- Willingness to work outside of your skill set to assist other teams as required
- Current NSW, or equivalent, “C” class drivers’ licence.
