Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project. HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.
The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0. The opportunity Reporting to the Traffic SPE, the Traffic Coordinator will be involved in coordinating and implementing traffic works on our project in accordance with the specified requirements and client expectations. Your responsibilities in the role will include: Prepare traffic control plans (TCP) for early works – experience with Invarion / Rapid Plan essential Develop and manage a register for S138 / Road Occupancy Licenses (ROL) for Councils and TfNSW Issue controlled copies of the TCPs, and copies of approved permits.
Develop and maintain personal contact with Local councils, Emergency Services, Police, TfNSW, and other stakeholders with respect to Traffic management and support Transgrid outcomes for the works. Provide support to the construction team to ensure documentation and compliance for all matters relating to traffic and transport management and systems compliance. Coordinate with the construction team what TCPs are required and ensure these are submitted to Council and approved not to hold up works Develop and coordinate Vehicle Movement Plans at Accommodation compounds and substations Investigate and maintain a register of all incidents and accidents.
