About the role
The role is responsible to lead the team to develop strategic and operational plans and policy in the areas of parking, Traffic and Road Safety to directly contribute to an efficient, safe and equitable Traffic and transport system for the community.
The role is responsible to provide professional advice and recommendations on Traffic and parking matters and proactive responses to emerging issues.
You can also expect to:
- Lead the team in the delivery of parking, Traffic and Road Safety investigations, programs and projects to achieve quality outcomes in line with legislation and industry best practice.
- Provide project sponsorship to ensure input into design and development of traffic facilities so that projects deliver expected outcomes.
- Coordinate and implement Road Safety education programs and resources to increase community awareness and capacity to respond to Road Safety issues.
- Identify funding strategies and options and prepare funding submissions for the delivery of priority initiatives.
- Coordinate Council’s responsibilities under the Delegations to Council from Transport for NSW to fulfil compliance requirements.
About you
We are looking for an agile and dynamic leader who has the following:
- A Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) which satisfies eligibility requirements for professional membership of the Institution of Engineers (Australia).
- Demonstrated experience in a relevant field.
- Working knowledge of the legislative and regulatory framework applicable to the work of the unit.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively lead and coordinate activities of a team.
- Well-developed conceptual and analytic skills, a capacity to identify and develop solutions to parking enforcement issues, and a commitment to process improvement of parking services functions.
- Commitment to excellence in customer service and to managing stakeholder relations in diverse environments.
- Understanding of technology and commitment to innovation.
- Current Driver’s Licence Class C.

Salary Range: $119,044.17 - $133,329.40 per annum, plus 3.5 % Civil Liability Allowance, plus 11% superannuation and leaseback vehicle
