We are seeking a self-driven and results-orientated Trainee Accountant to join our Administration team. Working under the direction of the Financial Controller, you will actively contribute to a positive organisational structure and achieve the highest standards of integrity and performance through the fostering of genuine partnerships across various departments of the dealership.
Duties would include, but are not limited to:
• Accurate input of financial data into the accounting system
• Costing and Processing deals into accounting system
• Raising of invoices and receipting of funds to relevant customer accounts
• Daily bank and merchant terminal reconciliations
• Monthly reconciliation of receivables ledger
• Reporting to Manufacture
• Processing of daily payment runs, including manual BPAY and ad-hoc EFT payments (refunds)
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes
• Address queries from internal and external stakeholders, liaise with auditors, and handle audit queries.
• Manage finance documentation, follow up on outstanding items, and escalate issues
Skills and qualifications required for the role:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Sound understanding of basic accounting principles
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to deliver on deadlines and work autonomously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Experience in the Motor industry would be an advantage
