iQhr is recruiting for a very successful accounting firm located in the surrounding areas of Gosford. It may look like a small business from the outside, but once you see their books you'll quickly see that this business is actually a power-house.
Since its inception in 2019, the practice has grown tremendously and now it's books are heaving with clients, and there's lengthy queue of new clients who are waiting to be seen.
Who we're looking for
My client is looking for their next protégé, someone who is willing to start at the bottom and work their way up within the firm. Who knows, maybe one day you'll be running the place!
It doesn't matter if you're straight out of school or a mature age person looking for a career change; what matters is that you are smart, ambitious and can juggle many tasks at once. You might also be a trainee looking to partner with a business to complete a traineeship- in which case we'd be delighted to partner with you.
You don't need to have prior Accounting experience because all in-house training will be provided on the job, but it would be an advantage if you've worked in an office before.
What you MUST have to be considered for the role is excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, an eagerness to learn and the ability to apply your learning in the workplace. You need to be organised and on the ball, manage your time and meet your deadlines. Your character and personality is also very important to us- you need to be honest, reliable, friendly and resilient enough to handle lots of feedback (the good, bad and the ugly- if necessary!). This is a busy office and there will be days where you'll need grit and determination to get through your to-do list.
The Role
We work with a wide range of clients of all sizes and across many different industries and so your day will be equally varied. You will find yourself switching between ATO correspondence, taking minutes, invoicing, supporting our Client Managers with their admin needs.
Our practice uses a range of software to cater for our client’s needs including Xero, ATO, ASIC, Xero (green and blue). Don't worry you don't need to know these systems, we will teach you everything!

You will gain valuable experience in all areas of general accounting and taxation in both individual and commercial settings. We'll start you on admin tasks so you can familiarise yourself with our clients, their businesses and industries, and the types of accounting set up they have. As you gain knowledge, we will provide you with the opportunity to work closely with a group of clients whilst being mentored by highly experienced staff.
We're also happy to provide you with extra support if you wish to undertake further professional accounting studies- we'll provide time off for study, take on your traineeship or even help you pay for some of your studies.
