Trainee Community Support Officer

The Family Place is a not-for-profit innovative Community Support service on the south coast of NSW, we are a dynamic and vibrant team with a very strong workplace culture.
Our service provides support for families, individuals and young people who may be experiencing a range of challenges as well as innovative and grass roots community development, arts and cultural programs.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Family & Community Support (Trainee) will work as part of our Targeted Early Intervention team. This role will give you the opportunity to work with families with complex needs to ensure they are able to access the right supports as well assisting to deliver a wide range of community initiatives designed to support children, families and young people. The position is a traineeship, and you will be required to undertake formal training as part of the role.
It is envisaged that the position will be a full-time roll and will be remunerated appropriately under the NSW SCHADS Award.

Criteria
- Current Driver’s License
- Working with Children Check and Police Clearance
- Strong community networks, work ethic and high standards of professionalism
- Alignment with our organisational values: creative, collaborative, curious, kind and respectful.
- High level of maturity and an ability to engage proactively and sensitively with clients
- Broad understanding of socio-economic disadvantage and the cycle of poverty
- Demonstrated leadership qualities through school, sporting, or extra-curricular activities
- Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to a career in the community sector
- Commitment to furthering education in the community sector
