Job description

We are Northrop Grumman Australia. Part of an 85,000 strong global Defence organisation, over 800 talented employees in Australia are leveraging our global resources to deliver a superior Australian Defence capability. As we build our business and our capabilities, we are also building a reputation as a great place to work. Help us define what is possible for our nation and for your career.

At Northrop Grumman Australia, we’re inviting you to be a part of something truly extraordinary. Imagine a career where every day you’re contributing to a safer, more sustainable world. As a Trainee EHS Advisor in our extraordinary team, you’ll embark on a journey where your growth is our priority, guided by exceptional EHS leaders who are as invested in your success as they are in our mission to “define possible”.

Your Role:

As our Trainee EHS Advisor, you’ll be embarking on an exciting journey. This is more than a role; it’s an adventure in learning and impact. You’ll immerse yourself in a world where your daily actions contribute to significant environmental and safety outcomes. Imagine acquiring dual qualifications in Work Health and Safety and Environmental Management, not just in theory but through hands-on, real-world application. You’ll be a key player in our safety narrative, identifying risks, participating in essential audits, and contributing to investigations that shape our safety culture. Your role is a blend of compliance and creativity, adhering to policies while also seeking innovative ways to enhance workplace safety. Here, every task you undertake, every report you prepare, and every project you support is a step towards a safer, more responsible workplace.

About You:

You are someone who sees beyond the job description. EHS is not just a field of work for you; it’s something that excites you. Your enthusiasm for environmental health and safety shines through your desire to learn and grow within an innovative, forward-thinking team. You are not just looking for a place to work; you are seeking a career path where you can make a real difference. With a keen interest in Work Health and Safety, particularly in high-risk environments, you balance your strong autonomous work ethic with an equally robust team spirit. Your excellent communication skills enable you to articulate ideas and findings effectively, contributing to our collective mission.

Possessing a current Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a defense clearance, you’re ready to take on new challenges and carve a path of professional growth and meaningful impact.

In joining Northrop Grumman Australia, you step into a role that transcends the conventional. It’s a journey of personal and professional evolution, in a team where your growth is intertwined with our mission of defining the future of safety and sustainability. Are you ready to be a part of this transformative journey?

What we Offer:
Whatever your role, life stage or background, you can shape your career here in your way with highly challenging work, great colleagues and career development, plus a range of flexible benefits and working patterns.

  • Professional Development – further education, leadership development, professional industry memberships and unlimited access to a range of online training
  • Purchased annual leave
  • Salary packaging including novated car leases
  • Generous paid parental leave
  • Volunteer Leave
  • Health & Wellbeing program
  • Employee Assistance Program

Everyone Matters:
Doing the Right Thing and Sharing Success are two values underpinning how we behave at Northrop Grumman. Here, everyone matters and we proudly encourage individuals from all backgrounds and all abilities to apply to join our diverse and inclusive workforce. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are welcome and encouraged to apply.

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable, as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role. You will also need to satisfy police checks and employment screening verification.
