Position Summary:
As a Trainee Front of House Community Engagement Worker at Big Rivers Child and Family Centre, you will serve as the initial point of contact for individuals seeking support and assistance. You will be supported to complete a certificate in Community Services. Your primary responsibility will be to welcome visitors warmly, assess their support needs, help their access to programs and activities, and refer them to appropriate services as necessary. This role requires a compassionate and non-judgmental attitude as you interact with service users and external stakeholders. As a trainee in this role, you'll receive full support to learn new skills, meet requirements of the role and be supported through your study in community services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Welcome visitors to the Big Rivers Child and Family Centre with a friendly and supportive attitude.
• Assess the support needs of service users and assist them in accessing programs and activities working with the family support workers.
• Support families with brief admin tasks such as creating an email address, creating a myGov account and obtaining documents required for Emergency Relief Funding.
• Refer service users to appropriate services to meet their specific needs seeking support from the family support workers where required.
• Assist service users with signing in to the centre.
• Answer phone calls and redirect inquiries as necessary.
• Complete a certificate 2 or 3 in community services with fully supported by the organisation.
• Support in maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the centre, including tidying up communal spaces, and ensuring the client kitchen is stocked, clean and fridge temperature is recorded.
• Encourage service users to maintain a respectful and tidy environment.
• Undertake other duties as allocated by management.

• Valid Ochre Card and willingness to undergo a National Police Check
Renumeration package:
Employment Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $$52,594.02 p.a (pro-rata)
Entitlements/Benefits: 6 Weeks Annual Leave + 2 Weeks Sick Leave + 2 Weeks Ancillary Leave + 1 RDO per Month
Location: Kalano’s Big River's Child & Family Centre – Katherine, NT.
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week – 7.5 hours per day [Monday to Friday | 08:00am – 4:30pm]
