What you'll be doing
The Nurse Practitioner/ Transitional Nurse Practitioner (NP/TNP) for Blood Transplant and Cell Therapies (BTCT) provides safe, competent and compassionate health care to patients receiving treatment within WSLHD.
The NP will provide autonomous health care for patients presenting to Westmead BMT service, over the age of 16, within scope of practice. From assessment through conditioning therapy for Allogenic and Autologous Blood Transplants and Cell Therapies, inpatient care and discharge planning, the NP will manage patient care in the acute phases following cellular therapies until clinical stability and transition to long-term follow up.
The NP’s clinical response will be customised to the holistic care needs of patients including timely access to relevant services post-cellular therapy administration, appropriate referral to other health care providers and improved patient and carers' education regarding health promotion and disease.

Essential Criteria
Registration: Current Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse Practitioner
Selection Criteria
- Current registration with AHPRA and authorised to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the NSW Nurses & Midwifery Registration Board (AHPRA) or working towards such a qualification. If transitional, 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent clinical experience in the specialty of the Nurse Practitioner role.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge and application of skill required in contemporary blood transplant and cell therapies nursing practice
- Expert knowledge in patient assessment and treatment
- Demonstrated excellent leadership, teaching and collaborative skills with evidence of participation in research and quality activities
- Excellent written and oral communication
