In response to continued strong performance in the industry we are seeking a motivated and self-directed person, with a strong commitment to excellence, to join our residential construction team as a Trainee Scheduler.
With a range of single storey, double storey, renovation & acreage designs making for a wide variety of custom homes, the opportunities for the right candidate are plentiful.
Your Role
While this is an entry level position, we expect that your learning curve will be steep and that within a short period of time you will be an integral member of our construction team, at which time your role will include:
- Completing scheduling works to facilitate the progress of the project
- Liaising with Drafting Department, Prestart Department and other external stakeholders to ensure the timeliness in progress of scheduling works
- Requesting, following up and evaluating quotes
- Compiling bill of quantities for projects
- Preparing and distributing purchase orders
- Creating supervisor’s files for projects
- Raising and monitoring variations as required
- Attending to both general and construction queries
- Preparing & issue documents for the scheduling team
- Prepare and distribute trade packs for supervisors
- Printing various construction documents
- Assisting supervisors with a variety of admin duties
Ideally, as the successful candidate you will have:
- Although not required, a Diploma of Building and Construction or trade qualification and experience will be highly regarded.
- An analytical mind with a strong acumen for numbers
- High level written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Capacity to read and interpret architectural and structural plans
- Interest in developing a career in the Construction industry
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office
