The primary objective of this role is to ensure the overall Driver HSE & Training compliance is managed efficiently across the State.
This position is expected to achieve this through a high level of Safety, People, Customer, Financial focus and Business acumen.
Additional responsibilities in this role also include:
- Providing Safety and Compliance mentoring to drivers and workshops as required, you will also promote best work practices and behaviors to drivers: “If it’s not safe, don’t go”.
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of Training and Operational improvement and liaise with Site Management to ensure regulatory compliance requirements are adhered to
- Conducting monthly compliance audits, facilitate new starter inductions for all staff including facilitating training and competency-based driving assessments for drivers (company and sub-contracted)
- Ensuring the required initial and on-going training is completed within timeframes and all training attendance and assessment results are recorded
- Completing field audits and facilitating other training as required by the business and assisting with training development is part of this role
- Assisting operations and workshop staff in the scheduling and delivery of toolboxes inclusive of facilitating group interaction to raise employee hazard awareness and involvement by discussing topics and HSSE incident investigation outcomes or learning’s etc.
- This position requires that you provide Operational support for leave coverage and peak seasons.
- Some domestic travel is required
Skills and experience we are looking for:
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment (current version or willing to upgrade within 6 months of appointment to the position)
- A Current Multi Combination (MC) licence is essential
- Current Dangerous Goods licence is preferred, however training will be considered
- Transport industry experience - highly desirable
- Vocational qualifications in Driving (Driving Operations)/ Transport and Logistics/ Safety including Defensive Driver Training - Highly regarded
