Program Kaartdijin has been established to procure and configure a functionally fit, technologically robust solution to replace the current School Information System (SIS) and include additional information and reportability. The Program vision is to provide a contemporary administrative and finance solution connecting people, processes and systems for school communities now and into the future. The objective of the Program is to provide both short-term and long-term solutions to meet the operational needs of schools and the reporting and management needs of the Department at large.
Program Kaartdijin is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual for the role of Manager, Training and Support to create and coordinate the Program training model, training schedule, online content and oversee the training.
The role will lead the development of Training and Support strategies, work within and across teams and business units to integrate service, support and advice to schools and the system, ensuring compliance with policy and statutory requirements. The role will be required to monitor and report against agreed the training schedule and regularly review and refresh the Training and Support approach. A key component of this role will be the understanding of Western Australian Public Schools dynamic, structure, requirements and varieties in locations and situations. There will be a significant requirement to create Training and Support content and materials which will form part of the Business-as-Usual training in later years, updating existing websites to reflect current information and materials and test against the Training Strategy to ensure the most effective end-user learning experience.
As the Training and Support Manager you will be required to develop plans and systems to deliver designated training outcomes and to support the capabilities of schools. Within this role you will deploy resources, including people, financial, physical and information, to ensure they are available to address the Program’s strategic plans, contractual obligations and other organisational priorities.
Within this role you will strategically consult, liaise and negotiate with government, Senior Executives, internal and external stakeholders on strategic training plans, support planning and capability outcomes. This role will require the successful applicant to develop and maintain effective communication links and working relationships to provide information on business and service reform matters and processes.
The role requires someone who can demonstrate a highly developed level of practical experience and skills related to large scale Training and Support in relation to ICT systems in an education environment, as well as change management.
The successful applicant will apply their knowledge of project methodology (preferably PRINCE2) in managing substantial projects through project plans, resource plans and budgets. The position will work very collaboratively with the Implementation and Deployment Manager and Principal Consultant, Communications to coordinate the end-to-end training of the system to more than 800 WA public schools. Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office products (Such as Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Project and Outlook), will be a key requirement of this role.
The successful applicant will also work with vendors and a variety of key stakeholders to create a training model, recruit and train a team of trainers, as well as create strategic training plans to support planning and capability outcomes for schools and the Department. They will enjoy working in a fast-paced, challenging role on a large-scale project with high levels of responsibility.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check if required
