About our team:
Our Operational Services Team play a crucial role in the organisation where they oversee the training, master rosters and recommend system improvements for our Onboard and Station Customer Service division.
As the Training Coordinator, you will work closely with two other Training Coordinators (one based in Brisbane and the other based in Rockhampton) as well as the Customer Policy and Training Adviser to ensure training compliance is met.
You will also be responsible for developing and implementing various training initiatives and requirements. Some of the exciting current or upcoming projects of work include transitioning to digital learning / assessments, customer service and leadership training.
This is a permanent full-time position based at platform 10 at Roma Street Station.

About the role:
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the training strategy and training programs
  • Analyse data to identify skill gaps to develop new training material, determine formal assessments and training requirement packages
  • Use the Learning Management System (LMS) or similar systems for compliance reporting and provide regular reports on updates to key stakeholders
Facilitate training programs and participate in training related activities
  • Some travelling will be required to complete audits onboard the Queensland Rail Travel long distance train services or at depots

To be successful in this role you will be a resilient, transformative thinker who is ready to hit the ground running in a fast paced and agile environment. In addition, you will require:
  • Stakeholder engagement: ability to foster and develop strong working relationships across a large organisation with numerous stakeholders
  • Training Coordinator experience: extensive experience in developing and co-ordinating development plans and training programs ideally within the travel /tourism and/or hospitality industry
  • Qualification: you will currently hold, are currently working towards or be willing to obtain a Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122)
  • Technical Skills and Experience: experience in online systems including Cloud Assess, Learning Management Systems (LMS), mentimeter and other relevant e-learning systems is highly desirable but not essential
  • Communication: confident communicator who can collaborate, influence change and negotiated across all levels of the business including with management
  • Planning and prioritisation: highly organised with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities and projects
