The role of AO6 Training Coordinator, Commands and Divisions Training is conducted from the Oxley Police Academy. The position requires the ability to coordinate attendance of all training for members attached to the Queensland Police Service Commands and Divisions and reports directly to the Inspector, Manager, State Education and Training, People Capability Command.
The work environment is located at Oxley Police Academy. The facility incorporates large open spaces, training rooms, an 0n-site café, access to free gymnasium and secure car parking for all staff. There may be a requirement to transition the location of this role to the Wacol facility in the future.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Provide leadership and direction to plan, coordinate and facilitate training programs in area of responsibility in support of improved professionalism, effectiveness and efficiency of staff and the Service in accordance with relevant service and national standards.
• Manage coordination of education and training including travel for members, facilities, including purchasing and maintenance of office equipment and other assets.
• Identify, develop, and implement strategies and provide advice on efficient coordination of training needs and activities relevant to area of responsibility.
• Coordinate and manage projects involving police officers and staff members to ensure the development of professional and effective education products and to ensure completion of projects within negotiated time frames.
• Identify and monitor trends and emerging issues pertaining to education and training.
• Provide the professional expertise necessary for consultation and advisory services for senior managers in relation to the implementation of best practice with innovative approaches to the evaluation of education and training.
• Cultivate relationships, establish and maintain effective communication channels with internal and external clients, stakeholders and service providers in order to identify efficiencies, consistency and enhance service delivery outcomes relating to education and training.
• Manage and co-ordinate, in liaison with the Manager and senior staff, the preparation of the budget and finances, including the monitoring of expenditure and provide timely advice to management.

- There are no mandatory requirements for this role however, formal qualifications in Assessment and Training (e.g. Certificate IV or higher) or accredited tertiary qualification in adult education would be highly regarded.
