Reporting to the Health, Safety and Training Manager, an opportunity exists for an experienced Training Superintendent to join the Oaky Creek Coal team on an 18-month fixed term basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and leading the operations training strategy ensuring the implementation in line with the business objectives.
  • Developing the training and governance processes to achieve legislative and site-specific requirements.
  • Developing and implementing the operations training needs analysis (TNA's) including records management and provide detail in relation to training into the operational sites Safety Health Management System (SHMS).
  • Leading, managing and coaching the Oaky Creek Coal training teams.
  • Identify opportunities and develop initiatives to improve training program delivery, including mandatory workforce Training Days.
  • Overseeing the design, development and implementation of training packages and practical assessments.
  • Overseeing the induction of employees and contractors at Oaky Creek Coal.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

About you:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in training and development management
  • Diploma of Vocational Education and Training and/or Training Design and Development
  • Proven experience in a similar role with leadership capabilities in relation to high performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver training strategy that aligns with current industry and legislative requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Queensland Coal Mining Legislative Framework including training requirements for Recognised Standard 11 & 22 compliance.
  • Ability to influence and drive change.
  • Appreciation of the big picture.
  • High levels of resourcefulness, initiative, personal organisation, and diplomacy.
  • Advanced Analytical and problem-solving skills.
