Training Support Officer

About the DepartmentWe enhance our agricultural industries and trade and manage the threat of biosecurity risks to Australia.About the RoleThe Indigenous Rangers and Business Management Section engages Indigenous Rangers on a fee for service basis to undertake biosecurity surveillance activities, whilst building biosecurity capability and providing economic opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across northern Australia, such as traineeships and grant programs. The section also delivers the Business Management Unit which provides corporate and strategic support across the Branch.As the Training Support Officer you will support the Training Team within the Indigenous Ranger Biosecurity ProgramDuties

• Supporting Indigenous trainees / learners e.g. facilitating regular yarning circles, coordinating training, monitoring assessment completion
• Liaising with stakeholders including Indigenous trainees / Indigenous rangers
• Providing administrative support
• Arranging travel and logistics for training and other events

The ideal Candidate

• Demonstrated ability to support First Nations learners.
• High-level administration skills including the ability to produce reports, prepare contract documentation, internal briefs etc to a high standard.
• Organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, meet strict deadlines and manage time effectively.

What's on offerThe successful candidate will notionally be offered a 6month non-ongoing contract at the APS5 level.
