The Department of Education, Student Child and Family Connect team are seeking a Transition Pathways Officer to join the Youth Engagement Services team, supporting the Townsville and surrounding areas. Transition Pathways Officers provide essential services to connect vulnerable young people and families who are leaving school in Years 11 and 12, into further education, training or employment.
The team are looking for applicants who have strong community, training and employment stakeholder engagement skills who can achieve results in accessing information, resources and services to support re-engagement.

The Student Child and Family Connect team are dedicated to supporting young people and families to maximise learning days for successful long term educational engagement.
Your Role:
As the Transition Pathways Officer, you will work across a cluster of State High Schools in Townsville and surrounds to provide a broad range of services to maximise transition outcomes for students at-risk of not successfully transitioning from post-compulsory schooling before the completion of Year 12. You will lead case management support to identify suitable pathway options for young people. Further, you will develop and maintain effective school-based and stakeholder networks, and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining confidential and accurate reporting within departmental policies and procedures.
The Transition Pathways Officer is a temporary full-time role until 31/12/2024, unless otherwise determined
About You:
A candidate with strong networking and communication skills, great time management and the ability to deliver positive outcomes whilst working autonomously and within a wider team, is greatly desired.
