About the role
Based in our Corporate office in Port Melbourne, you will be reporting to the relevant Supervisor and working closely with the senior logistics team. The key focus and day to day responsibilities will include arranging and recording client’s local and interstate transport tasks that have varied requirements, monitoring the delivery, FCL port to client transport, processing supplier invoices and preparing data for client invoicing.
Client engagement and updates is an essential part of this role alongside with procurement functions and supplier relationship building. You will need to be passionate about every part of the process, have good problem solving and priority setting skills along with accuracy in data entry.
This role will give you exposure to all areas that an international logistic company offers, a scope of capability allowing you to develop well rounded knowledge. Your daily tasks will include:
- Key account ownership from a transport perspective.
- Booking transport and following through until delivery executed
- Recoding daily transport orders.
- Working close with the import, customs, and commercial teams.
- Supplier nomination and procurement
- Supplier invoice validation and client invoice preparation.
- Communicating with warehouse for dispatches and freight preparation for delivery
- Ensure that documentation and statutory reporting is completed on time and as required
- Pro-actively seeking continuous improvement of import process and procedures in order to ensure the best quality of service is provided to clients
- Develop and maintain close and trusting rapport with allocated clients
Skills and Experience
Although we will support and train in all aspects of the daily workflows, experience in the related industry within Australia will be advantageous.
Your attributes will require you to be confident, team oriented, have an eye for detail, willing to learn, resourceful and see work through to completion. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. After hours work may be required occasionally. You must hold a current driver’s licence
