Harmon Transportation is a Hotshot delivery company currently operating from our Wangara base. Our efficient & service-focused team makes urgent Hotshot pick-ups and deliveries to mining clients across Western Australia and interstate.
As a result of consistent growth, we now look to add a self-motivated, hands-on Transport Supervisor/Manager to our team who has experience in the transport and logistics industry and is ready to take the next step in their career.
The successful candidate is motivated and has excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. A focus on service standards, a sound understanding of workplace health & safety and an ability to work as a member of a collaborative team are other vital factors in making a success of this role. We are WAHVA with Main Roads, and being a Hotshot company, you may need to, from time to time, get out and pick up an item and bring it back to the depot if required.
Reporting directly to the general manager and managing director, this position will see you responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day operations and working closely with our team to promote safety, service, and efficiency initiatives.
This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday. Working hours are 10 am to 6 pm, with additional evening hours once fortnightly, 6 pm to 9 pm. Occasional flexibility with working hours may be required due to operational needs.
Responsibilities include;
Liaising with clients & building solid and genuine relationships
Coordinating timely and seamless pick-ups and deliveries
Managing driver rosters and schedules
Ensuring compliance with client and company policies and processes.
Demonstrated understanding of the legislation and laws relating to the transportation industry, fatigue management and vehicle weight restrictions
Ensuring operational compliance with our certifications and accreditations, such as road transport, chain of responsibility, and dangerous goods regulations.
On occasion, getting on the road and helping with pick-ups.
Skills & experience required
Minimum two years experience as a coordinator/supervisor in transport/logistics
Demonstrated experience prioritising and multitasking
Excellent communication skills, ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders,
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Computer / Software savvy
A proactive approach with the capability to adapt to changing priorities.
Work Health and Safety knowledge
