Responsibilities
The Transport Operations Manager will be responsible for high volume, time sensitive distribution and the management of product deliveries across WA. The successful applicant ideally will have previous experience in the transportation of goods, ensure outstanding customer service standards are achieved and safety and operational targets are met in line with delivery schedules of the business plans.
- Providing a safe working environment for all team members, and ensuring compliance to all regulatory requirements
- Development and effective management of company fleet and warehouse
- Managing a team including deputies, leading hands and drivers
- Ensuring all elements of fleet operations is achieved, efficient and optimised
- Ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
- Effective day to day contract management of transport services
- Development of relevant KPI's and interpretation of same, to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Experience in the transport and distribution industry
- Ability to build strong client and site relationships
- Be a strong and efficient leader in safety and compliance
- Previous experience developing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships
- Proven skills and experience in people leadership and an ability to develop a positive culture and motivate a team
- Proven experience in consistently delivering results and achieving service and budget targets
- Excellent commercial, interpersonal, change management and communication skills
- Proven planning, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through issues with moderate complexity and guide and/or coach others in the resolution of problems
- Highly developed communication and presentation skills with the capacity to negotiate at a senior management level in a continuous improvement environment
- Medium to high skills in the Microsoft Office suite
