STAR Community Services is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Transport Scheduler & Communications Officer to join our team in Cleveland. What you'll be doing
This position manages the scheduling and radio communications requirements for the organisation. As a Scheduler & Communications Officer, you will have experience in the Community Services industry demonstrating professionalism, punctuality timely and effective resource allocation across service areas to deliver high quality support to clients. You will have excellent communication skills, be confident with a friendly demeanour, and have a mature outlook, problem solving skills, an ability to listen and work respectfully and appropriately with people from diverse backgrounds You are looking to work with a quality driven organisation with a strong client focus, putting the client at the centre of everything you do.
What the role involves:
- Management of the radio communication program, communicating to drivers around client cancellations, client adds, change of pick-up/drop off or other.
- Manage changes necessary to daily Driver manifests for cancellations, new trips or trip changes, late changes and emergency add-ins to daily schedules
- Rotate between scheduling and the radio operations – ensuring continuity of service with daily operations in collaboration with drivers
- Be on call fortnightly in rotation with colleagues, responding to work needs outside the ordinary spread of working hours.
- Complete multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines, in order to boost efficiency and client satisfaction
- Manage the daily scheduling program, finalising the vehicle runs and Driver manifests for the following working day
- Maintain effective, sound and healthy communication with a wide range of people at various levels within STAR, its clients, your team and external stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
- Entry point for a diploma without experience OR
- An appropriate certificate relevant to the work required to be performed OR
- Will have attained previous experience in a relevant industry, service or an equivalent level of expertise and experience to undertake the range of activities required OR
- Appropriate on-the-job training and relevant experience
- Knowledge and experience of current requirements of radio communications in a similar environment
