Form of workJob Description: Transport Scheduler / Production Operator-Toowoomba Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team as a Transport Scheduler / Production Operator in Toowoomba. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the scheduling of transportation vehicles and optimizing production operations. This role requires a strong background in scheduling, transport logistics, production processes, and operating machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an efficient transport schedule to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers and suppliers.
- Coordinate and schedule transportation vehicles, drivers, and routes, considering factors such as distance, delivery windows, and vehicle capacity.
- Collaborate with various departments, including production, warehouse, and procurement, to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of raw materials and finished products.
- Monitor and track transportation activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and delivery standards.
- Analyze transportation data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, and drivers to address any transportation-related inquiries or issues.
- Oversee production operations, including the operation of machinery and equipment, to ensure optimal productivity and quality output.
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections on machinery to prevent malfunctions and ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with production team members to troubleshoot any operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Scheduler, Transport Scheduler, or in a similar role within the transport or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of transport logistics, including route planning, vehicle scheduling, and load optimization.
- Knowledge of production processes and machinery operations is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously and make decisions under pressure.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Forklift or heavy machinery operating certification is an advantage.
Backgrounds:
- Previous experience as a Transport Scheduler or Scheduler is highly desirable.
- Experience in production operations or operating machinery is highly desirable.
- Background in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is beneficial.
- Knowledge of the transport industry, including regulatory requirements and best practices, is an advantage.
