Form of workLatitude Group Travel designs and delivers platinum level school tours linked to the curriculum and designed to include a lot of hands-on activities for students to ‘learn by doing’ (experiential learning activities). We love what we do. living and breathing it with a passion, as education is so important to us. Rather than sightseeing tours, the tours we develop include mostly experiential learning activities such as workshops, simulations, themed guided tours, Q & As with experts in their field, experiments and much more. We even have a study project that students can take on before, during and after the tours!
We are seeking someone who has ideally worked in a wholesale travel company designing tours, or who has a background in, or passion for education. You will be an excellent writer, with outstanding spelling and grammar, as well as the ability to make your tour designs enticing for students and their teachers to read, tempting them to want to go and not miss out!
You are an experienced researcher with the ability to find just what you are looking for, you are able to think outside the box and you are known for learning quickly, as well as making sense when you organise events or write about any subject. Your writing is engaging, and you are very persuasive.
Apart from designing these school tours, you will liaise with teachers, taking in in-depth briefs so that you can meet that brief with the tour your design. While you may not have had exposure to the curriculum, you are used to reading and summarising complex documents. Organising activities around learning, is also an incredibly helpful skill to have.
One of your best skills is your ability to think and make sense of a learning/teaching document. Organising an itinerary where students can learn by doing will come naturally to you, even though you may never have done this before. It is something you can see yourself doing, finding new and interesting activities for students to do, through utilising your excellent research skills.
Your background may have been in teaching, writing or event management, or you will have read this job ad and be able to describe, in your cover letter, why you are the best match tor or job. We want to hear why you are not only the best person for the job, but why you will love it as well.
While this is a full time job, we offer flexible working arrangements and the ability to learn a lot, with the possibility of a promotion in the future. Ideally you have a tertiary qualification, but it is not mandatory.
