This Continuous Applicant Pool is open for candidates interested in employment opportunities as a Tribunal Officer to fill any temporary vacancies within the team.

The positions may range in duration from 3 to 12 months with a possibility of extension depending on the reason for the vacancy. Applications will be reviewed and considered if and when vacancies are identified. The submission of an application to this Applicant Pool does not guarantee an offer of employment.

The Medical Assessment Tribunals consist of over 200 appointed medical specialists sitting regularly on tribunals and making medical decisions about workers' injuries within the Queensland workers' compensation scheme. As a Tribunal Officer your key responsibilities will include being responsible for supporting tribunal hearings across a range of specialty types, as well as working collaboratively to provide seamless administrative support to the Medical Assessment Tribunal. This will include organising and preparing for tribunal hearings, face to face stakeholder liaison and dictation typing, electronic file management and the ability to prioritise and autonomously manage your workload to ensure targets are met.

While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, it would be highly regarded if applicants have:

  • Previous job experience providing administrative or secretariat support in a professional office environment
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task, and work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of medical terminology and workers compensation legislation
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders and build and sustain positive relationships
  • Previous experience in Dictaphone typing.

Applications will remain current for 12 months.
