Underwriting Manager National Support

• 12 month secondment
• Reporting to the Head of Platforms Business
• Manage aspects of Operational and Insurance Risk
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve performance
• Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne CBD location

The purpose of the Underwriting Manager National Support role is to lead a team of SME Senior Underwriters and the Leader SME UW to deliver underwriting, sales and service excellence resulting in growth in GWP and Profit margin. This crucial role also involves Driving change across the SME UW business by understanding key drivers of Customer Satisfaction and Operational Efficiency and working with key stakeholders to improve process and outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:

• Develop capability within the SME UW team with coaching, guidance and support along the Underwriting career pathway
• Drive GWP Growth across the Vero SME and NFM portfolios by delivering sales and service excellence
• Deliver required Profit outcomes through strong underwriting capability
• Improve Customer Satisfaction and NPS outcomes
• Improve process and efficiency within SME UW team.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 10 years Insurance or Customer Operations experience at a Team Leader level is desired
• Strong understanding of the insurance industry, including insurance products, market environment and customer segments
• Strong ability to contribute to and understand strategic perspectives and translate to plans and tactical solutions
• Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills with a constructive and collaborative style
• Financial / commercial acumen and seasoned business judgement.
