About the roleâ¦
The Urban Design Officer role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a range of experts in the built environment, working on a variety of projects of different scopes and scales, that will contribute to the strategic transformation of our city.
Reporting to Council’s Urban Design Lead within the newly formed City Shaping Department, the position will assist in the planning, design and delivery of a range of strategies and plans, addressing the accessibility of local streets, resilience of our local parks, the vibrancy of our main streets and strategic growth of the city. The position also provides input into the delivery of the annual capital works and renewal programs for the City’s streets, parks and other public spaces.

About youâ¦
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Degree and/or Post-Graduate in Architecture, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Planning or equivalent with eligibility for membership to the relevant peak Institute (E.g., AIA, AILA, PIA)
- Experience in developing a range of high-quality graphics, including diagrams, plans, infographics, and presentation / artist impressions, as well as ability to produce high quality reports, display material (including digital) and presentations
- Experience working within a team to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines, as well as working collaboratively with a range of different professions
- Experience in managing the delivery of minor landscape or streetscape projects, including procurement, tendering, contracts and contract management
