With ground-breaking technology that simplifies gift cards for consumers and businesses, we are bringing together an amazing team to operationalise our B2C gift card product ‘Special' and our B2B gift card products for merchants and partners, powered by Karta.
As part of our Product Team based in Sydney, you will report to the Head of Product & Operations. You will be responsible for proactively identifying opportunities to create better user experiences. You take advantage of trends before they are ‘popular' enabling branding strategies that will help Karta effectively reach more customers. You will also ensure that the end-to-end journey with our products or services meets the desired Company outcomes.
As a UI/UX Designer you will work closely with other team members to create high-quality user experience for the end users and development of detailed customer experience designs in an Agile way of working, gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements, and building navigation components.
You'll create both functional and appealing features that address our clients' needs and help us grow our customer base. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with design software and wireframe tools. You will have a portfolio of professional design projects that includes work with web/mobile applications.
What you will lead:
- Working collaboratively with Product, Technology, Marketing, Sales, as well as other key stakeholders, to take a concept from incubation to post - launch, tracking change requests, iterations and influencing the user experience every step of the way
- Managing complicated design projects, with limited supervision, from initial request to presenting results, ensuring each project is completed accurately, on-time in line with the Company goals
- Work within and evolve our design system to suit the product needs
- Create prototypes and effectively communicating ideas to developers and stakeholders
- Contribute to strategic decision making to help define what MLP looks like from a user experience and design perspective in consultation with developers.
- Illustrate design ideas and improvements using customer journey maps, storyboards, wireframes and UI visual design artefacts in Figma/Miro
- Hold discovery workshops to share industry best practices that solve for customer pain points
- Effectively and creativitily conduct usability testing to validate design concepts
- Creating and improving our B2B products and consumer applications for responsive web, mobile and Karta Admin portal.
- Creating original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables) for design system, social media and website content.
- Keeping abreast of competitor products and industry trends
- Thinking ahead and working with excellent time management and prioritisation skills, in line with our key milestones or plans
- Create and document design processes to achieve business objectives with a view to driving high performance and efficiency
- Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
- Delivery of multiple consumer products and B2B SAAS products and understand what it takes to create exceptional customer experiences.
- Ability to take ownership of a project and work autonomously to deliver the desired outcome
- A deep understanding of responsive design and native apps
- Ability to understand complex business requirements and technical limitations and how they impact the design
- Extensive knowledge of Figma including configuring UI components and building UI artefacts based on shared components ready for development
- Strong analytical and requirement gathering skills
- Ability to make effective solution focused recommendations
- Ability to engage stakeholders, identify stakeholders needs and respectfully build relationships
- An inspiring Team spirit, with strong communication skills, written and oral, to collaborate with various stakeholders
- Good time-management skills, proactively providing regular updates
- Driven, articulate self-starter who doesn't require much direction
- Ability to meet agreed deadlines and targets under pressure
- Exposure to large scale and global growth, or the ability to work across multiple locations and time zones
- A portfolio shows your design style and what you can bring to the role
- Highly developed skills in technologies such as Figma, Adobe Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Experience with Miro, Jira, Confluence and agile methodologies.
- A degree in Design, Computer Science or relevant field or have design certifications
- Prior project management experience, with a focus on creative direction and delivery
- Proven experience working in a fast-moving fintech start-up is highly regarded
- Previous experience working with technical teams including software developers and product management
