About the role
We now require the position of Value-Add Facility Manager tobe filled for our Carina West facility, located in Wemen VIC. This is afull-time position.
This role will oversee operations of the Parboil value addfacility, analysing operational efficiencies, implementing change management,system improvements, personal knowledge development, work structures,quality/food safety systems, maintenance objectives, plant hygiene,improvements/upgrades, budgeting, and financial targets. Responsibilities
· Management of Parboil operations at the CarinaWest Processing Facility.
· Adhere to all Select Harvests policies,procedures, and OH&S systems.
· Ensuring a safe working environment that iscompliant with all relevant legislative and organisational requirements.
· Drive hazard identification and reporting withinthe Parboil team, including addressing and closing out hazards as they arise.
· Validate Parboil quality and operationalprocesses by establishing product specifications; quality attributes; measuringproduction; documenting evidence; determining operational and performancequalification; writing additional and or updating existing quality andoperational procedures to reflect operational practices.
· Ensure all Parboil internal and external auditsare conducted satisfactorily and certifications relevant and maintained.
· Work with the production team to ensure site GMPstandards are maintained and improved upon.
· Keep up to date with emerging hazards within thenut industry/food industry.
· Prepare documentation and reporting in line withrequirements.
· Assist with financial forecasts and managingarea of operations within capital and processing budgets.
· Provide active input and information to theproduction planning team.
· Assign orders to production in accordance withthe production plan.
· Ensure that customer specific requirements areincorporated into the company’s processes and procedures.
· Ensure all Parboil fumigation, cleaning,sanitisation, and pasteurisation protocols are strictly adhered to
· Comply with all JD Edwards Inventory ManagementSystem (JDE) business rules.
· Oversee completion of relevant paperworkincluding balancing of BOM’s and work orders utilising the JDE managementsystem.
· Verify daily that all stock movements withinyour area of operations are scanned correctly.
· Ensure all staff are trained/signed off on thetasks they are performing. That staff training registers are reviewed andupdated quarterly once initial training is completed.
· Contribute towards improvements in productionprocess flows and technology.
· Collaborate with other members of management todevelop new product initiatives, engineering design improvements and upgradesto manufacturing and training methods.
· Promote team spirit, a sound working culture andsupporting an environment that encourages and motivates.
· Mentor future management potential within yourteam with a focus on succession planning and team stability.
· Training and development of coordinator andsupervisors.
· Liaise with the maintenance team to ensureadequate programs, systems and resources are in place within your operationalarea.
Experience requirements:
