The Role

As a  Vegetation Management Technician, you can expect your days to be focused on controlling vegetation around site infrastructure and allocated land through weed spraying.

This is a physical role that requires you to draw on your previous experience to ensure you complete your work in the safest and most efficient manner possible. Working independently and with a small team, you will conduct risk assessments and amend procedures where needed.  

The core duties of this role are: 

*Complete daily equipment pre-start checks and task risk assessments 

*Hold site specific permits and comply with land access requirements 

*Operate 4wd vehicles, tow trailers and use hand tools

*Brushcut Vegetation 

*Mix and Apply herbicides to target vegetation 

*Blow down, wash and weed hygiene certify equipment 

These positions are offered on a local (Mon-Fri) roster or rotating DIDO roster.

Whilst we are willing to support you to obtain industry relevant tickets, experience in a Vegetation Management role is benificial. The below competencies are necessary to achieve prior to your commencement: 

• Industry Safety Induction (I.S.I)
• First Aid/CPR Certificate
• White Card
• Drivers Licence (Manual)
• PMASUP236B - Operate vehicles in the field
• AURTGA001 Drive and Manoeuvre Trailers
• AHCCHM307 Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases
• AHCCHM304 Transport and store chemicals
• Commercial operator's licence - herbicides – Queensland
• AHCBIO201 - Inspect and clean machinery for plant, animal and soil material
