Key Responsibilities and Major Areas of Responsibility
Staff Management:
- Lead, manage, and train restaurant staff, including recruitment, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure high standards of customer service, aiming for guest satisfaction and business growth.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and recognition.
- Address customer complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring swift resolution.
- Prepare and manage staff rosters to maintain optimal staffing levels.
Operational Procedures:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned dining venue, ensuring proper order of service and section maintenance.
- Ensure daily cleaning and maintenance duties are performed to high standards, using checklists for consistency.
- Quickly identify and rectify menu, POS, or wine list discrepancies.
- Reconcile cash registers and credit card transactions at the end of each shift.
- Maintain premises and walkways clean and free of obstructions.
- Report maintenance or repair needs promptly and ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Customer Service and Quality Control:
- Ensure outstanding guest service and promptly address customer inquiries and complaints.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.
- Monitor the freshness and quality of food products, coordinating with the kitchen to reorder or discard items as needed.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance the dining experience.
Financial and Marketing Responsibilities:
- Develop marketing and promotional strategies to attract and retain customers.
- Analyze financial reports monthly, manage budgets, and take necessary actions to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
Kitchen Coordination:
- Maintain open communication with the kitchen team regarding menu updates, changes, and daily specials, ensuring accurate information is shared with waitstaff.
- Monitor freshness and quality of food products, including milk, citrus, and bar garnishes, coordinating with the kitchen for reordering or disposal.
Team Development and Environment:
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Encourage teamwork and professional development among staff.
- Lead by example, demonstrating strong work ethics and dedication to service excellence.
