Form of workStone & Wood is serious about good beer. Not just good in the sense of great tasting, quality beverages, but good as an aspiring conscious business supporting our local communities including our vibrant brewing community, especially in and around Brisbane.
In 2019 we opened our doors at the Brissy Tasting Room and we’ve never looked back! With a great team, awesome atmosphere, and tasty beers, we’ve become part of the furniture here in The Valley. A big part of what we do at our venues is centred around education and developing people’s appreciation for good beer. We believe we can add value to the ever emerging and changing good beer scene in Brisbane and we’re on the hunt for a passionate Venue Manager to help us continue to bring this to life.
Not only do we pour beer, but we host small events, corporate functions and gatherings including nights where our fantastic beer community join in. From our very own Beer Club dinners, industry nights… you just never know what you are going to get, and we’re always looking to find ways to embed into our community even further.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has previous experience in hospitality management and enjoys being hands on in the venue. We believe the Venue Manager is the beating heart of the guest experience, bringing to life our brands in a way that showcases our unique culture and values. We’d love our successful candidate to think of guests first, communicate confidently, have a love of beer and be able to represent our brands in the simple, down to earth style we value so much.
What you’ll need to nail this role:
- Are skilled in the art of great customer service, drinker experiences and bringing a brand to life
- Have prior experience in managing venues, including an understating of full financial, budgeting and P&L processes
- An understanding of how to build revenue growth and profitability, while being genuine and considerate to our brand ideals
- Naturally enjoy coaching, guiding and developing a team
- Ability to manage multiple events and functions simultaneously
- Are well organised and a great communicator
- Know how to plan and execute events, with a high degree of attention to detail
- Can roll up your sleeves, pour beers and work with the teams around you while you lead by example
- Knowledge of licencing laws, RSA responsibilities and other legislative requirements
- Background in events would be great, but not essential
- Cicerone Level 1 qualified would be ideal, but not essential
The important bits: this is a full-time permanent role at our Brisbane Tasting Room that will require flexibility to work both night and weekend shifts. You must hold a current RSA and have full working rights to work in Australia.
