Job description

Southern Cross Veterinary Clinic, Smithfield QLD

If you want to see what the fuss is about in FNQ then this is the job for you!

With wet season and dry season here in Cairns, with the potential of a relaxed stress-free lifestyle that will allow you to explore all of our beautiful rainforests, walking trails, beaches, waterfalls, and on the doorstep to the Great Barrier Reef, then this job is potentially for you.

Nestled in our own tropical oasis, in the heart of Cairns' northern beaches, is Southern Cross Vets.

We are an employer of choice, through flexible working conditions, bring your own pets to work every day. You can go to the Great Barrier Reef or travel to Tolga Sunflower Farm, or many of the Gardens, wildlife parks, or just to the beach on your days off.

By joining our Southern Cross family, we have some perks.

Some perks of joining our family include:

·  A generous CPD (Continuing Professional Allowance) with paid transport to and from conferences.

·  Support with continuing education and travel to a developing interest such as dentistry, ophthalmology, or behaviour

·  Open dog policy – feel free to bring your pet to work every day.

·  Availability of parking if you have own vehicle.

·  SCV has tied up with Work Happy to ensure our employees get adequate mental support, life coaching and personal development if they need it. Mental Health of our employees is always a priority!

Our team in FNQ is currently small but enthusiastic, but with the support of all Staff at our three Sydney based clinics, there is no shortage of help.

Our team is comprised of a bunch of highly enthusiastic and bright individuals. They readily challenge the traditional processes, take risks, and do what is right for the pet and pet owners – whether medically or surgically. They adapt quickly and work well in a fast-paced environment. Above all, they have a deep passion and love for animals, and enjoy spending time and taking care of them.

At Southern Cross Veterinary Clinic Cairns, we believe in providing you a nurturing environment and providing you the best opportunity to grow and develop in this role as well as in your career.

In addition to the perks and benefits, we are also a VISA Approved employer, who are willing to help overseas vets achieve Permanent Residency in Australia through sponsorship.

We are looking for a full time or part-time vet to join our newly renovated clinic here in Cairns Northern Beaches. Your enthusiasm, compassion, good sense of humour and love of what you do will make you fit in perfectly with our friendly and dedicated team. The role is open to experienced candidates or recent graduates with a good easy-going disposition.

A full-time role would require you to work 38 hours per week and would include some weekend work.

We have very little after hours work, which means you are able to maintain a Healthy Work Life Balance, leaving you plenty of time to spend with your loved ones & pursue your personal hobbies.

Should you fancy a change of scenery our three Sydney clinics are in convenient locations.
