How are AWLQ Community Vet Clinics different?

The charter of AWLQ’s Community Vet Clinics is that no sick or suffering animal is ever turned away, irrespective of an owner’s capacity to pay for treatment. We’re not just a clinic, we’re a community committed to saving countless lives.

This unique service makes essential vet care accessible to all pet owners including those previously unable to afford treatment for their pets. Our commitment to keeping pets and people together saves countless animals’ lives and avoids many animals having to enter the shelter.

Any profits made through our Community Vet Clinics at Brisbane, Gold Coast and Ipswich provide further funding for the rehoming of shelter animals as well as education and foster care for animals in need.

What’s in it for you?

Competitive above award remuneration packages for Associate Veterinarians, with an advancement incentive program.

We have full-time or part-time employment options to suit your lifestyle, and we offer Work-Life-Balance roster options, +11% superannuation, paid study leave, annual continuing education allowance of $2,500, 4 weeks annual leave, discounts and EAP.

Our flexible Work-Life-Balance options ensure you work only one weekend a month, FT 16 days / month and PT 14 days / month, with no on-call.

Whilst we are a large-scale veterinary clinic with a substantial professional care team, we maintain a friendly, collaborative community vibe.

Fast-track your surgical skills with our unique caseload opportunities, supported with quality mentorship from our skilled Veterinary team, our vets regularly practice around the world utilising the expertise they have acquired at AWLQ.

Whether you have years of experience, or beginning your professional journey, build a passionate career with a friendly first-class team.

We appreciate our veterinary team's expertise, who together treated over 40,500 animals last year at state-of-the-art hospitals, fitted out with modern equipment.

Most importantly, you will make an enormous positive contribution to the welfare of animals and their human companions.

Join our team and make a difference!

There is nothing like going home at the end of the day knowing you made lives better.

The Animal Welfare League Queensland has been at the forefront of community veterinary medicine for 60+ years. We provide a safe haven and second chance for close to 10,000 stray and homeless animals every year. To each one of these animals we welcome through our doors, a promise is made – to never euthanise a healthy, sociable, or treatable animal in our care. We work tirelessly every day to maintain this promise. We are looking for animal-loving professionals to help us continue our lifesaving work!

We all share a common passion - whether affected by illness or injury, the animals we help need your expertise and compassion. You could wake up every day knowing you’ll be helping to keep pets and people together in a fulfilling environment where no two days are the same.

Join us at our Brisbane Community Veterinary Clinic and join a passionate, caring and kind team.
