We are on the hunt for our next qualified, permanent part time Vet Nurse/Tech to join our team!
What do we have to offer? Well, we have all the bells and whistles (we are an accredited Veterinary Hospital). We have the tourism attractions. We have great food and wine. There is even a coffee shop right across the road from our main Hospital.
We are a fast-paced mixed animal practice with a 24-hour Emergency Hospital located in Berri with 4 out-clinics in other Riverland towns. You will work alongside vets with varied special interests to help you advance your skills and be supported by a highly skilled nursing and reception team.
Whilst there is cleaning to do, you will be required to put your skills and knowledge to use, performing a large array of nursing duties including:
- Admissions/discharges
- I/V catheters
- Blood draws
- Intubation
- Patient preparation
- Anaesthetic monitoring
- Scale and polishing, assisting with dental radiographs
- Assisting with radiographs
- Scrubbing into complicated surgeries
- Assisting with orthopaedic surgery
- Assisting with large animals
- Invoicing patients
- Administering medications
- Nurse consultations
- Nurse triage consultations
We roster dedicated receptionists, so that our nurses can be nurses, however we all pitch in and help when required. We also have a strong focus for continued education and professional development for all staff, giving every staff member the opportunity to attend conferences and workshops.
Not only are we looking for a candidate with a minimum Cert IV qualification, but we are also looking for personality. A positive personality with high levels of emotional intelligence, good communication skills, and who will fit in with our culture.
The ideal candidate will be included in our roster of weekdays, and weekends/public holidays on call. Rotating after hours on call and weekend shifts are required as part of this position.
We utilise Medechat during our afterhours shifts, so the only time you will be phoned is when you are required.
