ABOUT THE ROLE
The Vertical Video Editor plays a key role in creating and publishing vertical content to the AFL Live app. A newly formed role at the AFL, you’ll have the opportunity to help drive engagement and the development of an exciting new digital initiative at the AFL.
You will be competent with video production and keen to lend those skills across the broader AFL Digital team.
Please note this is a 12-month maximum term contract.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
Key Accountabilities:
- Create & edit engaging video and graphics in vertical (9x16) format.
- Working weekends, you’ll keep across key moments during AFL & AFLW matches to edit and publish in a timely manner.
- Ideate & plan vertical content for weekly executions using AFL’s partner platforms.
- Find engaging ways to promote AFL produced articles and shows in vertical format.
- Write engaging and newsworthy copy on posts.
- Provide content & digital support across the organisation, in particular AFL Social team.
- Work collaboratively with the AFL Editorial and Social teams on matchday & during the week.
OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER
Core Competencies:
- Capable Video Editor in various formats, but competent with vertical video.
- Exceptional understanding of digital media, trends and measurement tools.
- Experience in digital platform publishing and CMS management.
- Demonstrated writing skills and ability to write in different formats and styles.
- Capable of using Adobe Premiere Pro. Photoshop is preferred but not essential.
- CMS and web management capabilities.
- A creative self-starter with an eye for storytelling.
- High attention to detail, working well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- An understanding of the AFL and its players is desirable.
