The Role:
Exciting opportunities exist for casual Visitor Services Officers to work in the Ballarat Visitor Information Centre located in our beautiful, historic Town Hall. These positions will provide exceptional levels of customer service to visitors to Ballarat, by providing a personalised service catering to the individual needs of the visitor.
About You:
To be considered for one of these exciting opportunities, a sound general knowledge of the Ballarat region, tourism, events and services provided in City of Ballarat and other agencies in the community is essential. Our aim is to showcase all of the wonderful experiences the Ballarat region has to offer.
Qualifications and experience:
- Certificate, qualification or knowledge and skills gained in the tourism industry, marketing, customer service or a similar discipline.
- A sound general knowledge of the Ballarat region, tourism, events and services provided in City of Ballarat and other agencies in the community or ability to learn.
- Substantial experience in a direct customer experience and/or visitor servicing role.
- Experience working with people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to speak multiple languages would be highly advantageous.
- Working with Children Check or willingness to acquire one.
- Current Police Check or willingness to acquire one.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Qualifications and experience as listed above.
- Demonstrated ability to display empathic listening skills and a high level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders including people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Sound level of competence in the operation of Windows-based programs and other relevant systems.
