Services include medical, surgical, HDU, palliative care, oncology, renal dialysis and rehabilitation, with childcare and aged care facilities also on campus. The hospital enjoys a reputation for high quality care. St Vincent’s is seeking to fill the following permanent full-time position:
Ward Clerk–Day Surgery Unit
Reporting directly to the Nurse Unit Manager, the Ward Clerk will be responsible for
- The day to day administration and surgical list management for all procedures conducted within the department;
- Effectively planning and prioritising work requirements to ensure the unit is provided with the highest quality administrative service;
- Collaboration with all personnel involved in the planning and preparation and care of patients admitted to the perioperative department;
- Ensuring all service delivery is outcome based and consumer centred.
To be successful, applicants will need to possess the following:
- Demonstrated experience in the day to day administration of patient files in a ward would be desirable
- Demonstrated experience and aptitude in the use of basic computer applications including Microsoft Office and other applications
- Previous experience working within a front line customer service environment and delivering a professional, empathetic and personalised approach to customers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate effectively with a diverse range of patients, the general public and our caregivers
- Effective time management skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise workload
