What You'll Be DoingA Temporary Full time opportunity is now available for an Administration Officer to join the Antenatal/Gynaecology team, located at Nepean Hospital, Penrith.

This imperative role will see you be responsible for efficiently and effectively carrying out all administrative duties associated with ward activity and patient management, including general reception duties, medical record management and accurate data entry for all patient ward transactions using the Hospital’s PAS.

This role requires a flexible attitude and the ability to be moved across multiple areas to maintain service provision, and assist with any other duties as directed by the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), Nurse Manager (NM) and Ward Clerk Manager. At all times you will be professional, courteous and provide a friendly manner.

New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.

Selection Criteria To Be Addressed

  • Demonstrated extensive and varied clerical experience and knowledge, including reception experience
  • Demonstrated effective customer service skills
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience using Windows based software including databases and experience in using MS Word and Excel with proven typing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to be flexible and adaptable to workplace change
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and privacy including ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
