Campbelltown and Camden Hospital are recruiting for Wardspersons to complement and enhance the current department.

What You'll Be Doing
The Wardsperson role is responsible for providing safe and efficient transport of patients throughout the hospital Health services to wards, medical appointments in accordance with relevant policies and procedures; Ensuring hygienic and efficient cleaning standards are in-line with infection prevention policy and procedures; Assisting the Department Manager in the efficient and effective operation of the Central Ward Orderly Service.
This position also provides the transport of patient related equipment throughout the hospital; Transfer, admission, viewing and discharge of the decease to or at the Mortuary and other locations within the Hospital in accordance with the relevant Policy and Procedure; Attends Emergency Calls in accordance with the relevant Policy and Procedure. E.G. MET Call Assist, Stroke codes-trauma calls, Obstetrics Code Red and Yellow, Aggressive Patient Emergencies include Code 7 MHU, Helicopter Landings and Fire Alarms; Provides clinical support including assisting the Nursing Staff with Patient Care according to the relevant Policy and Procedure.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. * Experience as a wards person or hospital assistant in a healthcare setting, or in other patient care environment, assisting and supporting the provisions of care.
- Demonstrated experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team environment and the ability to organize and prioritize work demands within required time frames.
- Availability and capacity to participate in a 24 hour/seven day rotating roster which includes working all shifts, all days of the week including public holidays.
- Demonstrated knowledge of hygiene and infection prevention and control principles.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, patients and members of the public.
- Must be able to read, write and understand English effectively and relay messages as required for position.
- Must have high understanding of manual handling skills and demonstrated experience in this area. Sound knowledge and practical application/commitment to understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles.
