With a national footprint consisting of warehousing and offices in Melbourne (HQ), Gold Coast & Perth, coupled with a national sales team located in Victoria, NSW, QLD, WA & SA we are looking to attract an appropriate candidate for our Melbourne warehouse located in Seaford (and about to transition to Hallam as of April 1, 2024). The Warehouse Leading Hand (WLH) role is to support the Branch Supervisor to deliver products to our clients in a prompt, accurate and efficient manner.

The WLH role leads a small team of warehouse staff by demonstrating leadership in a hands-on manner within the warehouse. Applicants only prepared to roll up the sleeves and lead by example need to apply for this role. We are looking for a confident, self-motivated, and experienced Warehouse Leading Hand to work cohesively with the team and management. 

The successful candidate will need to manage the day-to-day warehouse requirement and staff in the branch along with a commitment to getting the job done. You must ensure we continue to provide an outstanding customer service experience and satisfaction to our customers. Your ability to drive, motivate and lead our warehouse team is paramount to being successful in this role.

Experience / Skills required:

• Warehouse supervisor/Leading Hand experience.
• Hands on and disciplined leadership skill set. 
• Clear communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Excellent phone manner, experience, and an ability to manage freight requirements.
• Customer sales / service experience would be advantageous.
• Experience in driving annual stock takes would be advantageous.
• Keen eye with attention to detail.
• Team orientated and an ability to work autonomously. 
• Accurate picking and packing experience.
• A discipline to follow procedure and instruction.
• Punctual, organised, and self-motivated.
• Forklift licence – Essential.

Responsibilities/Duties will include however are not limited to:

• Ensure an effective day-to-day coordination and organisation of the warehouse team.
• Managing the day-to-day warehouse operation and staff within the branch.
• Ensuring the warehouse and staff adhere to the company national policy, process and procedures at all times.
• Maintain an appropriate branch presentation and upkeep.
• Ensure stock levels on hand are appropriate to fulfill order requirements.
• Communicating with freight companies, our staff, and customers regarding orders & delivery status
• Work with the Branch Supervisor to ensure all staff, plant and equipment in the warehouse are operating in accordance with WHS policies and procedures and a safe and healthy environment at all times.
• Support the Branch supervisor to develop, train and mentor the warehouse staff in SOP.
