About the opportunity
The Warehouse Inventory Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of inventories at Sprintpak's Production & Distribution Centre, contributing to the company's overall operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The Warehouse Inventory Manager will oversee the inventories of raw materials, operational consumables, and finished retail goods, ensuring optimal management throughout their lifecycle.
This role is an operational role and requires an onsite presence across 5 days at our Sprintpak Facility - Rowville
Key Responsibilities,
Lifecycle Management: Proactively manage the lifecycle of all inventories, from acquisition to disposal, adhering to established protocols and standards.
Inventory Accuracy: Maintain the accuracy and integrity of physical and system inventory levels, aligning with predefined performance benchmarks.
Optimization: Optimize stock holdings and storage capacity utilization, balancing inventory levels to ensure continuous availability for customer order fulfillment.
Process Streamlining: Utilize systems and tools to streamline and automate inventory-related processes, including purchasing, goods receipt, put-away, replenishment, and stocktaking.
Team Development: Foster a strong team culture and build capability within the inventory management team, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
Other Accountabilities:
Inventory Accuracy and Lifecycle Management: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of raw materials and finished inventories, exceeding $8 million, by managing their end-to-end lifecycle, including obsolescence, write-off, and disposal processes.
Stakeholder Support: Provide direct support to Australia Post product category teams and other internal/external stakeholders on various aspects such as purchasing, inwards deliveries, supplier compliance/quality, inventory, and lifecycle management, returns, and associated reporting requirements.
Resource Management: Prioritize completion of inventory-related tasks and effectively manage and allocate labor resources in alignment with operational plans and budgets.
Productivity Enhancement: Continuously monitor productivity levels and identify opportunities for improvement across all inventory and warehousing functions. Implement strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and work outputs.
Purchasing Strategies: Determine and execute purchasing strategies for replenishing raw materials, operational consumables, and finished goods. Utilize available systems functionality and reporting to support decision-making processes.
By focusing on these commercial, strategic, and financial priorities, the Warehouse Inventory Manager can ensure effective inventory management, support stakeholder needs, optimize resource utilization, and drive financial performance.
About you
We are looking for someone with a solid background in supply chain management, particularly in operational warehouse management, inventory management, logistics and utilizing supply chain systems. Developing collaborative relationships both internally and externally is also key, along with the ability to streamline and optimize processes within the organization.
What are we looking for?
- The ideal candidate for this role would have a minimum of five years of experience in a supply chain environment, specifically focusing on managing operational inventory functions and warehouse management.
- Be well-versed in using various supply chain systems, with a strong emphasis on purchasing and inventory management functionalities.
- Excellent people skills to foster collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders such as Product Category teams, as well as external suppliers and service providers.
- Warehouse systems experince (SAP & Masterpack desirable)
