About The Role
Our SKUTOPIA Fulfilment Centre in Alexandria utilises the latest robotic technology to provide efficient automation to deliver a premium service to our ecommerce merchants and end consumers, fulfilling up to 20,000 orders per day. As the Senior Fulfilment Manager, from day one, you will have an immediate impact on our productivity by identifying streamlining initiatives, overseeing operations and ensuring the team is collaborating and working efficiently. Ideally, you will have proven experience in managing fulfilment operations, with experience in high growth startups or with eCommerce businesses being particularly relevant.
In this role you will:
- Drive the day-to-day operational success and performance of our fulfilment centre situated in Alexandria with potential extension of responsibilities to further sites as they are launched.
- Be a safety champion. Lead the team in managing risks within the facility, inform and drive the safety management program and embed a safety -first culture within the organisation.
- Be merchant-obsessed. Define and maintain priorities within the FC that directly support achieving merchant-facing outcomes including ensuring dispatch-on-time, stock transfer prioritisation and exception handling are completed in line with agreed SLAs.
- Collaborate with our operational excellence team, product development and commercial teams to provide operational insights and feedback to inform our SKUTOPIA WMS feature road-map and onboarding strategy.
- Lead the team by living our company values, engaging and working to retain employees.
- Recruitment for all warehouse staff - casual and full time. Creating an engaging and extensive onboarding programme.
- Rostering and timesheet management for casual staff.
- Grow and mentor our Supervisor and Team Lead employees. Work with the Head of Operations to ensure high-potential staff are provided with development opportunities.
- Challenge all warehousing and fulfilment practices and stay up to date with the latest trends and improvements in this space.
- Work in partnership with senior leadership to drive the company's goal of environmental positivity by implementing best-in-class practices into the fulfilment centre.
On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to:
- Oversee daily operations of the fulfilment centre through collaboration with senior management and the warehouse team, rolling up your sleeves, and making sure things happen when you see a need.
- Leading and supporting the warehouse team, mentoring and coaching them to provide their best work.
- Manage a range of different stakeholders and their differing interests and priorities including online merchants, our internal development team and leadership team.
- Take a strategic approach to creating solutions that will provide efficiencies and allow for increased productivity within the fulfilment aspects of our national robotic fulfilment footprint.
- Help to define new strategies and initiatives to drive business growth, working with the Operations Excellence team.
- Work with the Head of Operations to achieve budgeted profit and loss performance and key performance indicators, with full accountability to meet site budgets, amend forecasts and drive improvements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries, problem solving and developing action plans to address them, and ensuring that communications to the business are clear and timely.
We think you will need:
- 5+ years in a fulfilment operations role, ideally in a high-growth environment or with large retailers
- Experience managing a team of warehouse workers - rostering and recruiting casual & full time workforce
- Strong, evidenced leadership skills
- Highly driven - Motivation and hands on - with the attitude to 'get stuff done'
- Dedicated to efficient warehouse productivity
- A desire to learn and work with high tech automated operations
