Hornsby Shire Council is home to 150,000 people and covers a total area of approximately 500 square kilometers on the North Shore of Sydney. Reporting directly to the Manager Waste Management, you will be responsible for providing high level contract management, customer service and business management support to the Waste Management branch. From an operational perspective, you will manage and direct all contracted outsourced services including domestic and commercial collections, recycling and resource recovery, waste treatment and disposal, and council property cleaning.
You thrive in dynamic, fast-moving environments where the emphasis is on exceptional customer service, delivering positive outcomes every time and building close, collaborative working partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders. Waste Management experience is not essential, we are more interested in your strong leadership background in contracts management and customer service, and your exceptional problem-solving and negotiation skills. As a Manager, you lead and inspire by example and understand the importance of accountability.
