The City of Subiaco are seeking a dynamic Waste Education and Project Officer with recent Project Management success, to join our small but committed team of Waste Champions.
Reporting to the Manager of Waste and Infrastructure Maintenance the successful applicant will provide education to our community relating to best waste management practises, and prepare, coordinate, and implement waste-related projects and initiatives.
The key responsibilities of this role:
- Assist the Coordinator Waste and Infrastructure Maintenance to prepare, supervise and control waste management programs under the guidance of the Manager Waste and Infrastructure Maintenance.
- Customer Service: respond by phone and email to all waste enquiries.
- Consult with the community, internal and external stakeholders on queries and issues relating to waste services provided by the City.
- Implement Waste Education and communication programs in collaboration with the City's Communications Team and the Western Metropolitan Regional Council (WMRC).
- Organise, implement, and host City Waste Events.
- Manage waste data collection and reporting.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant qualifications or work experience in waste management and education
- Be a multi-tasking champion, able to adapt quickly to a fluid operational environment and land on your feet with Plan B, when necessary.
- Relish a busy, challenging, vibrant work environment?
- Pride yourself in your organisational ability to plan, prioritise and achieve outcomes to deadlines.
- Interact with peers and stakeholders using your excellent communication skills - written and spoken.
- Have experience establishing, developing, and maintaining policy, strategies, and procedures.
- Contract Management knowledge.
- Advanced ability to use computer systems such as Microsoft Suite, including Excel and Publisher. Authority, HPE Content Manager and Verint CRM are desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible and fit into a variety of roles to meet the requirements of the branch and the organisation.

Salary Range: $91,880 - $99,230 plus 11% employer superannuation and additional co-contribution to your superannuation.
