The Role
We are seeking a motivated and engaging team member to work as part of Council’s waste operations and engagement team. You will support the development and implementation of projects and programs for all waste and resource recovery services delivered by Waverley Council. In this role you will assist with customer service requests, DA referrals and provide specialist advice on a range of waste management and recycling topics to support the Waverley community to meet its waste reduction targets. The role will carry out education, engagement, monitoring and reporting of programs and services to support efficient waste management and recycling that maximises resource recovery.
About You
- Class C Driver’s License.
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, sustainability, science, communications, or similar and/or relevant industry experience relevant to the role.
- Skills in project management including scoping, planning, establishing priorities and allocating resources to a project from beginning to completion.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating environmental projects and/or programs within budget and agreed time frame.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to provide effective customer service to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- High level of written skills and demonstrated experience in writing external communications, plans and/or reports within a professional setting.
- High level of digital literacy with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, databases and/or mapping tools and waste management software.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a work environment with competing deadlines and priorities.
