Your opportunity
The Water and Wastewater Planning Engineer assists in the completion of strategic planning for Water and Wastewater assets to inform the long and short-term Water and Wastewater infrastructure investment requirements. The position will assist in the development of network models and assist in the coordination of asset renewal programs. The role will also assist with the delivery of short and long term Water and Wastewater Planning Programs through program and project management.

To be successful in this position you will have previously planned and implemented water supply and Wastewater infrastructure management programs and projects. This will involve using your research, analytical and conceptual skills, including professional judgment when interpreting legislation, codes and relevant standards, preparing reports and recommendations, assessing development applications and setting conditions for approval.
You will be an effective communicator who can work in a team based environment and liaise and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders, clients and the community. You will provide professional advice and resolve sensitive and complex matters by utilising your strong mediation and conflict resolution experience. This will involve negotiating desired outcomes that are acceptable to stakeholders.

Eligibility
- You'll hold a Current QLD 'C' Class Drivers Licence.
- You'll have experience in the Water and Wastewater Industry as an Engineer.
- You'll have tertiary qualifications in Engineering and/or qualifications acceptable for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
- You'll have experience in public or private sector relevant to the design, planning, project management and asset management of Water and Wastewater Infrastructure.
